Fitbit announced the release of new Minions-themed Ace 3 fitness bands for kids this morning. The Ace 3 Special Edition: Minions is designed for kids ages 6 and up and is packed with features that will help motivate your kids to be more active.
The new special Minions edition of Ace 3 comes with hourly reminders to move and daily activity goals. The fitness band is swim-proof and can be enjoyed all through the summer on the beach or your backyard pool.
The Ace 3 special edition includes a new interactive Minion clock face. Fitbit plans on releasing new Minion-inspired accessory bands and Minions-themed activity badges.

The new Minions animated clock face, available exclusively to Ace 3 devices, allows kids to become the Minions’ latest “boss” as the expressive character runs, dances, skateboards, and swims, encourages kids to get moving, and illustrates their progress towards daily customizable goals for either active minutes or steps.
These activity bands have 8-day battery life.
These special editions Ace 3 activity bands have the same stringent parental controls as other Ace 3 bands.
Parents can set up a Fitbit family account and manage privacy controls and protections. Through the exclusive Parent View in the app, parents can also see their kid’s activity and approve their kid’s friend requests.
“Parents and kids love our Ace activity and sleep trackers for their engaging and motivating features that inspire kids to stay active and build healthy habits,” said Alison Ross Powers, Head of Global Strategic Partnerships for Fitbit at Google. “Introducing Illumination’s Minions to the Ace family brings fun, new Minions inspired features that weave in even more personality and surprises into the Fitbit experience for families and kids, keeping them moving and happy alongside their favorite on-screen characters.”
This new release from Fitbit comes after the success of Garmin’s Disney-themed smartwatches for kids. Garmin has successfully marketed its Disney-themed Vivofit Junior 2 and Vivofit Jr. 3 to this young demographic.
- BATTERY LIFE: Up to 8 days of battery
- Compatibility: Compatible with iOS 12.2 or higher & Android OS 7.0 or higher
The Garmin Vivofit Jr. 3 is also priced at a similar price point as the Fitbit Ace 3 and comes with different themes such as Disney’s Little Mermaid or Marvels’ iconic brand “Iron Man.”
The Fitbit Minions special edition Ace 3 is priced at $79.95 and is available starting today. You can learn more about this exciting Fitbit product from their site.
We can expect to see more “themed” Ace 3 and Ace 4 bands in the future from Fitbit as it explores new licensing agreements.
